Keith Jarrett wies in einem Interview darauf hin, daß offenbar Wayne Shorter beim Improvisieren ganz ähnlich vorgeht:
The saxophonist Wayne Shorter once gave a funny explanation about the way he improvised. It goes like this: "A note occurs to me, and I say yes to it. Then there'll be one that I say no to. Then another one that gets a no. And so improvisation consists of yes, no, no, yes, yes, no, yes, no, yes, yes ..." What he was also probably trying to say was how quickly decisions occur. It's the quickest way of composing.
